Airdrop not working on MacBook Air

Airdrop is not working on my MacBook Air, as it is not detecting Apple devices nearby with Airdrop ON. I had also kept bluetooth ON and detect anybody option kept in all devices. when Airdrop tested in Safe Mode as per advice given in Apple help chat, the Airdrop screen goes blank as soon as bluetooth is turned on. Please help as I am not able to transfer files to and from MacBook Air having latest OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, using Air drop.
